INDICATIONS

ECO-SCRATCH is an oral homeopathic medicine which helps promote healthy skin, hair, horns and hooves and helps to relieve itching and scratching along with the associated inflamed skin.

It is specifically intended to help relieve allergic skin conditions, dry eczema and seasonal dry skin irritations.  It also acts as a tonic to improve poor coat condition.

ECO-SCRATCH specifically assists in treatment of:

• Skin allergies and itchy skin conditions
• Dry, itchy skin and dry eczema
• Hair loss or alopecia
• Brittle, thin or dry coat
• Dandruff
• Hot spots
• Lick granuloma
• Mange (demodectic, otodectic and sarcoptic)
• Scratching of the ears with ear discharge or eczema of the ear flap

USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH

ECO-HAIR If the hair and skin condition is very poor

ECO-ECZEMA To treat moist eczema of the ear flap

ECO-EARS If there is scratching of the ears with ear discharges

ECO-ALLERGY Use together with Eco-Allergy if the skin allergy does not show any improvement within 3 days.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION INFORMATION

Frequency of dose

The normal dose is 2 – 3 times daily.

Where the irritation is severe, start by dosing hourly for 4 doses. Then reduce the frequency to every 6 hours until the patient is more comfortable.

Give the prescribed dose of the medicine at least 10 minutes away from food or other remedies or supplements.  If you are using more than one Eco-Vet medicine at a time, please give the medicines 10 minutes apart for maximum efficacy.

Preparation of medicine and directions for administration

ECO-SCRATCH is prepared in 20% ethanol and should therefore be diluted before giving it to your animal.

While water is the best medium for administration, if your pet does not tolerate the water, you can substitute milk. As a last resort, you can give it on a little treat, but this may delay or impact the efficacy of the medicine.

When you are able to administer the medicine directly into your pet’s mouth, dilute the medicine in clean water and allow it to stand for a few minutes to allow the alcohol to evaporate. You can then administer the recommended dose of the diluted medicine directly into the mouth using a clean dry plastic spoon or syringe.

Alternatively you can add the recommended dose of the medicine to the animal’s drinking water, stir with a plastic spoon and leave to stand for a few minutes to allow any alcohol to evaporate before giving it to your pet. Be sure to make up fresh drinking water at least once a day or whenever the water is soiled or dirty.

PRECAUTIONS / THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU USE THIS MEDICINE

Please consult your veterinarian if symptoms are severe or persist for longer than three days without improvement.

There are no known side effects.  If your pet’s condition starts to deteriorate, please consult your veterinarian.

Giving an overdose or too much medicine is unlikely with a homeopathic medicine because it contains such minute doses of material substance. The only problem is if  the medicine is not diluted correctly and the animal consumes too much alcohol, in which case you should consult your veterinarian.
